Whispers to My Heart as I Contemplate the Cross

You would have stayed with Me at the cross. Those who did had leaned on my breast, poured out their tears on my feet, and let Me hold them together in the storm. They knew that they did not have to run and hide on the day of trouble, because I had girded them up. I restored their soul, so they knew that even if their hearts broke, that I would mend them again. This is how you have been with Me.  Pain has no dominion over you. You have been declaring that over your body, but I have been declaring that over your spirit. Pain will have no dominion over you. You have been tested and found faithful. You are beautiful to Me.

These seasons of testing have prepared you for what lies ahead. It is Love that has done this, has made you stand fast on the day of adversity. Love is the only thing that can keep you at the cross until it is finished. Love is the only thing that trusts that resurrection will come when all is dark. Lovers get lovesick, because they take a risk when it may not turn out the way they hoped. Victory belongs to the lovers.

I see you coming out of the desert leaning on your Beloved. You have never been more beautiful to me than when you lean into Me. Even hanging there on that cross, that is how I saw you, trusting so elegantly the Love I had for you. You were the joy set before me. I love you, dear one. It was worth it. I would do it all again just to spend every day with you. I crown you with honor. I crown you with love. This has been my dream throughout all time to have a bride who is wholly mine, so that I can be wholly hers. This is the dream that I dreamed for us since the earth’s foundation, and it’s just the beginning. My delight is in you. I rescued you, because I delighted in you.
